The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members, and visitors through shared cultural, social, and recreational events and experiences.

Fall Semester: Individual schedules* are dependent on class schedules/availability and are created by Kiosks Management. Shifts can start as early as 8am Monday-Friday, and can go as late as 8pm Monday-Thursday and 6pm on Fridays. Badger Bash Saturday shifts are required of all staff. Badger Bashes are the Union's Tailgate before every Home Football Game. All staff are expected to work all remaining Bashes unless otherwise specified by Kiosks Management.

*Individual schedules are subject to change throughout the semester; student staff are given ample time to submit schedule requests and review the new schedule when this happens.

6 scheduled hours minimum. 18 scheduled hours maximum.

If scheduled less than 15 hours per week, Badger Bash shifts will be additional shifts. If scheduled 15 or more hours per week, Badger Bash shifts will replace a regularly-scheduled shift, unless requested otherwise.

Fall Semester Hours:

Ginger Root: Monday-Thursday 11a-7p, Friday 11a-5p

Naan Stop: Monday-Thursday 11a-4p, Friday 11a-3p

Cantina: Monday-Friday 11a-2p

Daily Scoop: Monday-Thursday 11a-7p, Friday 11a-5p

Badger Bash shifts are required outside of regularly-scheduled shifts on the following dates (subject to change) for Badger Bashes: Oct. 11th (Sat), Oct. 18th (Sat), Nov. 8th (Sat), Nov. 22nd (Sat).

• Each role will have an aspect of cashiering and general customer service
• Handling, cooking and preparing food, including meat*
• Assisting with food and beverage service, including serving alcohol*
• Maintaining a clean work environment

*The Wisconsin Union has other positions that do not require handling of meat or alcohol. Please contact hr@union.wisc.edu for assistance

• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to work in a team
• Prior food experience helpful, not required
• Requires standing for long periods of time

Student Status

To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
