Schedule:

 Hours scheduled between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with some evenings/weekends commitments, flexible scheduling. Regular one-on-one with your supervisor. Attending Morgridge Center training, staff meetings, and events as required.

Qualifications:

 Graduate Student Status, you are required to be directly enrolled in courses. Qualified candidates will be self-motivated, responsible, independent workers with strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Candidates should have some experience with facilitation and tenets of social justice and/or community engagement, as well a basic understanding of the Madison community.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Familiarity with community-engaged scholarship, as well as an understanding of the Madison/Wisconsin community and other UW community engagement resources and units
Experience with facilitation and curriculum development
Experience supervising undergraduate students

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Community Engagement Preparation Grad Hourly supports the preparation of UW students and staff to work with the community as part of both academic and co-curricular community-based initiatives by coordinating the community engagement preparation curriculum through both in-person (i.e. workshops) and virtual (i.e. online training modules) formats, as well as designing and coordinating related events. This position oversees a team of two undergraduate interns who support workshop facilitation and undergraduate engagement.

Educational Programming Responsibilities:
Supports student and instructor access to community engagement preparation training materials
Coordinates workshops and trainings with instructors and other campus partners
Advance student understanding of community-engaged research and community-based learning, while also highlighting other campus and community pathways to community engagement
Supports curriculum evaluation and improvements
Supervises two undergraduate assistants responsible for designing educational programs

Center Support:
As needed, support general office needs, such as front desk staffing or outreach opportunities
As interested, support any Center-wide committees, such as the Center's diversity, equity, inclusion; sustainability; training/professional development; and/or wellness committee, as examples.
Attend Morgridge Center trainings, staff meetings, and events as required
