Junior, senior, or graduate student
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Good written and verbal communication skills • Interest in renewable energy • Ability to work as part of a team • Ability to do webpage editing, video editing, and/or social media is a plus • Some knowledge of renewable energy, environmental policy, or community engagement is a plus
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Work with UW-Madison Extension on RESET, a project to help Wisconsin communities, farmers, and landowners plan for large-scale renewable energy siting across Wisconsin in a way that supports community vitality and environmental quality. The internship is funded by a Reliable Energy Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning (R-STEP) grant from the US Department of Energy. Student tasks include the following: • Help develop and maintain maintain the project website • Help create and post event promotions including press releases and social media posts • Help develop training materials, including slide decks and fact sheets • Help research and develop educational resources related to renewable energy siting • help coordinate meetings of the project partners (state agencies, environmental and farm organizations, tribes, and energy developers) • Help record, edit, and post event videos (optional based on skill set but desired)
