Department Overview:
The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of the UW-Madison campus in support of the university's education, research, and outreach activities. FP&M works behind the scenes to coordinate campus planning, manage design and construction, maintain and operate buildings and grounds, supply utility services, ensure health and safety, and provide parking and transportation services. Our campus customers include anyone who works, studies, visits, or lives on campus.)

- Mechanical Background or customer service (preferred but not required) - Ability to demonstrate dedication and hard work

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Receive and distribute materials. Review received materials to ensure they are the correct items and are in acceptable condition, stage material, and receive material into AssetWorks software (training on site). Clean, organize, and cycle count materials in the warehouse. Assist warehouse staff as requested with projects and other duties. Communicate with UW tradespeople and the Stores Materials team about their orders. Organize and inventory Stores materials regularly. The position involves moving around in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse while maintaining awareness of your surroundings to stay safe. We regularly handle materials for various trades, such as electricians, steamfitters, plumbers and carpenters. This is a great opportunity for people who enjoy staying active as well as those interested in learning about the trades.
Physical Demands:
- Use of PC computer/mouse/keyboard - Ability to work on-site. Standing, lifting, pushing and pulling.
