  • Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm during church seasons of Advent (December) and Lent (March-April)

  • Third Sunday evenings 4:45-7:45pm in most months of September-May

Position Summary/Job Duties:

At Christ Presbyterian Church, we deeply cherish our children and our Childcare Providers who play a vital and appreciated role in our community. Our Childcare Providers establish an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for our children as well as delight in building connections with children and families, witnessing their growth and development over time.

Job Responsibilities: Cares for children ages newborn to early elementary 

On Sunday mornings:

  • Childcare Providers are expected to work Sunday mornings 8:30am-12:30pm during the school year. Summer Sundays are generally 9:30-11:30am
  • Provide safe childcare for babies, toddlers, preschool-aged and early elementary-aged children
  • Provide simple and playful structure for children including but not limited to open play time, story time with provided books, etc.
  • Coordinate restocking supplies with Director of Family Ministry
  • Connect with families as they drop off/pick up children and ensure a safe and easy transition during drop off/pick up
  • Oversees and maintains regular cleaning and sanitizing including toys, play areas, etc in accordance with Christ Presbyterian Church Policy.

Other Opportunities for Additional Hours:

  • Wednesday evenings from 5-7pm during church seasons of Advent (December) and Lent (March-April)

  • Third Sunday evenings 4:45-7:45pm in most months of September-May 

  • Occasional additional opportunities for special events, Vacation Bible School, etc. 

Qualifications:

  • Age 18 or older
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience with childcare and family communication
  • Understanding of the importance of and how to implement play-based learning
  • Previous experience with an open and affirming church childcare context preferred
  • Attend paid annual trainings on Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse, First Aid, and CPR
  • Background check required
  • Professional and personal references

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Will be exposed to illness-causing bacteria and viruses.
