Position Summary/Job Duties:

Primary responsibilities for our Buyer Analyst Intern include but are not limited to:

  • Assists in analyzing purchasing data to identify trends, cost-savings opportunities and supplier performance metrics.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels and supplier performance.
  • Provide administrative support to the buyers, including managing purchase order and updating records
  • Assist in market research to identify new suppliers and product options.
  • Proposes new ideas to help promote University Book Store merchandise.
  • Ensures merchandise is in stock, priced correctly and displayed according to guidelines.
  • Performs UBS customer service expectations as required
  • Performs all additional duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Writes up defects for credit.
  • Works with buyers on pricing, scanning and product issues.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory records as directed by the Supervisor and Department Manager, including counting items, data entry, and verifying and recording information.
  • Operates cash register to accurately record purchases, completing transactions according to company procedures.

  • Excellent sales and organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
