Schedule:

  • 15-20 hours per week, including mostly evening/weekend hours each week. Must have availability for programming efforts Friday, and Saturday evenings in the fall, on a rotating basis.
  • Scheduling requirements:
    • Must work a minimum of 4 weekend programming shifts per month.
      • Regular programming shifts are from 8pm-1am on Friday and Saturday nights.
    • Availability between 4pm-8pm on Monday evenings for an average of 2 hours for staff meetings. If this block of time on Mondays does not work for you, please indicate in your application, so supervisors can work out an alternate plan.
    • 1-2 hours per week for office hours, program planning & support
    • 1 hour bi-weekly for supervisor meetings
  • Flexible scheduling based on academic availability and operational need.
  • Potential summer hours may be available but are not guaranteed.

  • Move-In Date: August 17, 2025 (If you are a resident of University Housing)
  • Fall 2025 Training/Opening Week Preparation
    • August 18, 2025, through August 22, 2025, for REP Training
    • Early Move-In Programming starting August 24, 2025
  • Spring 2026 Training/Opening Preparation
    • January 15 - 16, 2026, for REP Training
  • Note: Start date and training dates may change but will not be any earlier than the dates listed above.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Lead Late Night Coordinators are primarily responsible for planning and executing large-scale late-night programs for on campus residents. A Lead Late Night Coordinator will support programming efforts by organizing events and executing programs to help students effectively transition to UW-Madison and make the most of their Wisconsin Experience.

  • Support residents during possible emergency situations and provide crisis response at events, if needed.
  • Create social media posts that actively engage with Wisconsin Late Night attendees on Wisconsin Late Night social media and outreach accounts.
  • Assist with planning process for, and attend, all Wisconsin Welcome programs.
  • Delegate roles to traditional Late-Night Coordinators
  • Work with supervisor to create job training modules, present modules, and co-facilitate staff meetings.
  • Autonomously execute late night programming as directed by supervisor, or with supervisor support.
  • Complete 3-5 office hours during working hours per week to prepare for upcoming meetings and/or events.
  • Act as a mentor and point person for traditional Late Night Coordinator staff before, during, and after every program.
  • Responsible for maintaining sensitive information.
  • Responsible for meeting expectations for all other duties outlined in the traditional LNC role.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and additional responsibilities as assigned by each specific unit.

Qualifications:

  • Must have had programming experience as a Late-Night Coordinator or Residential Events Programmer for at least one semester.
  • During pre-employment and employment, a student staff member must abide by the University Residence Halls Contract, the Student Housing Handbook and the University of Wisconsin System academic and non-academic policies and expectations.
