Department Overview:

Monona Swim & Dive Club is made up of approximately 300 swimmers and 50 divers ranging in age from 5 to 18 years old.   As a member of the All City Swim League our divers compete on Friday evenings against other All City dive clubs in the Madison area.  Our divers often join the club when young and stay until they graduate high school because of the friends they have formed and the fun they have had over the 10 week season.  They truly learn diving skills that last a lifetime.  Our club prides itself on the skilled energetic coaches whose primary interest is our athletes.  In addition to practices and meets, the club holds social events where swimmers and divers get to know their coaches better and make lifetime friends with other swimmers

Schedule:

Part-time/seasonal. Season runs from mid-May to the first week of August. Practice hours are AM practice from 7:30 am – 9:30 am (M-F); PM practice from 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm (M-Th). Note hours are subject to change. Meets held every Friday evening beginning at 5:00 and are also subject to change. When hosting a meet at Monona, coach must be at the pool for warm ups by 3:00 and must be at away meets by 4:00 for warm up.

Salary/Wage Range:

Monthly $1,500.00 to $1,800.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

For someone who has dive experience and a passion for working with young athletes, this role is a perfect opportunity to share a love of the sport with young divers eager to learn more.  The role is focused primarily on instructing dive techniques to prepare divers between the ages of 5 and 18 of all levels to compete in 7 weekly dual meets and the All City Swim and Dive meet (All City).  The head dive coach builds a fun and engaging team culture and watches through daily practices and weekly dive meets the team flourish in competition.  The head dive coach will also participate in planning meetings for All City Dive, participate in team social events, work with and give direction to an Assistant Dive Coach and Junior Dive coaches, as needed, and judge weekly dual meets and All City Championship. 

Qualifications:

Previous dive experience required. Previous dive coaching experience preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands

Able to be outdoors daily during the summer heat. Able to perform dives. Able to lift more than 25 pounds.
