Schedule:
Flexible Scheduling based on your academic availability and operational need
8 hours a week required, 10-15 hours per week preferred
Shifts available between 7:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, some weekend hours as operationally needed
Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours
Summer:
25-40 hours per week, positions based on availability & operational need, flexible scheduling options may be available, schedule will be set upon hire.
Shifts available 7:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday, some overtime may be available on weekends.
Seasonal: This position is considered seasonal during the summer months and is exempt from the 30 hour per week average rule in regards to the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Hours worked may exceed 30 hours/week during the summer months
Salary/Wage Range:
Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Student Grounds Technicians assist with mostly exterior projects throughout the University Housing community. Common tasks for this position include: landscaping, trash pickup, repairing playground equipment, apartment turnover work, and common area projects. If you like to work with your hands and be outside, this is a great position for you!
Perform general repair, grounds and custodial work, such as shoveling snow, removal of furnishings, weeding, string trimming/ leaf blowing, windows, and sweeping
Assist with general grounds projects including maintaining landscaping, trees and shrubs, signage, parking lots, sandboxes, and play equipment.
Perform grounds-related painting projects and trash clean-up and removal. May perform specific tasks assisting other trades.
Report building maintenance issues, follow up with residents as needed.
Move tools and materials to various work locations using university owned vehicles.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Satisfactory results of a confidential criminal background check are required.
Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and squat to perform work.
A driving history that meets UW Risk management standards is preferred.
A valid driver's license is required.
