Department Overview:

Direct Care Workers will report to three supervisory staff. Shawn Elmer is the Executive Director and business owner. Jennifer Riedasch is the Assistant Director and manages each home as well as case management for all clients. Julia Wohlert is the People Strategist and handles recruiting, hiring, and scheduling for new/current employees. Thrive Dane, LLC prides itself on being a small business that truly cares for and provides a hands on approach to each of the clients in our care. Employees will have the opportunity to get to know and work with each of our six clients that we provide a range of direct care responsibilities for.

Schedule:

We provide a flexible schedule that can be created. We often have open shifts that are available to be picked up for extra hours as well. The current open shifts are:

  • Sunday, 7am-2pm
  • Sunday overnight, 9pm-8:30am
  • Thursday, 4pm-9pm
  • Friday, 11am-4pm
  • Saturday, 3pm-9pm
  • Saturday, 2pm-9pm
  • Saturday, 2pm-6pm

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $16.00 to $16.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

In this role, workers are expected to provide companionship, guidance, support, and assistance with problem solving structured around activities of daily living for individuals with developmental disabilities. We have flexible hours that workers can set around their needs and lifestyles. This can be a part-time job picking up hours when available! Workers have the opportunity to do morning, evening, and/or overnight shifts. Weekday and weekend shifts are available, so you can create your own schedule based off of client openeings! The starting rate for this position is $16/hour and includes benefits like mileage reimbursement. We also have some clients off of the bus line in Madison if you need to use public transportation to get to work.

Qualifications:

  • Some caregiving recommended, but not required (we provide training before going one-on-one with clients)
  • Experience with people with disabilities 
  • Ability to commute and work in the community
  • Communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Dispensing medication accurately and reliably 
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly home environment 
  • Meal planning and prepping
  • Assisting with personal appearance and hygiene]
  • Transporting clients to various activities and groups they participate in (in personal vehicle or through rideshare)
  • Follow specific protocols related to each client/household
