Department Overview:

We’re a family of four with a 12-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son, located in the Town of Middleton near Airport Road (10 mins from Middleton, 8 mins from Cross Plains).  We enjoy being active and outdoors, with a daughter into swimming, art, science, and music and son into football, legos, and movies.

 

Anticipated Hours Per Week

Schedule:

40 hrs, 5 days/week.  4 week days plus Saturday.  Hours are guaranteed, even if the kids are busy with other activities.  

Example: 

  • Tues- Saturday:  9am-5 pm 
  • Mon-Wed, Fri and Sat 9am-5 pm

With advanced notice and agreement, hours may be shifted to start and end late (Ex. 2pm-10pm or 7am-3pm).  Hours beyond 40 hours per week, or outside of 9-5pm window will be paid at a higher rate.  

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $20.00 to $25.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

We are looking for a partner who is engaged, reliable, patient, proactive, flexible, and has strong communication and behavior management skills to become a full-time part of our family over the summer.  Our ideal candidate would have experience with social emotional learning and de-escalation skills.

The position is from June 11th to August 29th, though there is the option for more or less weeks of work for the right candidate. This duration will include a family trip to California for ~3-4 weeks.  Travel + food costs will be covered. A couple of overnight jobs may be available for additional pay.  Applicants who cannot travel or do overnights are still welcome to apply, in which case the window we are in California would be a non-working period. 

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Childcare for 10 and 12 year old  (Caring for one child, both children, or being an extra set of hands for a family activity.) 
  • Prepare lunch for kids
  • Child transportation to and from activities 
  • Light cleaning (not primary cleaner) 

Ideal responsibilites include:

  • Family Travel - Travel with family to CA and live with us for approximately 3-4 weeks.  One week will be at family camp.  Travel + food costs paid. 
  • Overnight - Ability to stay overnight with children while parents are traveling for 1-2 nights likely 2 times in over the summer

Qualifications:

We are looking for a partner who is engaged, reliable, patient, proactive, flexible, and has strong communication and behavior management skills to become a full-time part of our family over the summer.  Our ideal candidate would have experience with social emotional learning and de-escalation skills.

Our nanny needs to:

  • Have experience working with school age children 
  • Be able to make simple healthy meals (ideas and recipes provided)
  • Have a clean driving record and reliable transportation 
  • Be willing to have background check done
  • Provide references
  • Be a non-smoker
