Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. The Union connects students, faculty, staff, members and visitors through shared cultural, social and recreational events and experiences.

Schedule:
Minimum Hour Expectation
Minimum of 12 hours (3 shifts) per week during the school year. More hours available if requested. Summer hours would be a minimum of 20 hours (4 shifts) per week.
Anticipated Schedule
Schedule is flexible and will depend on student hiring needs. Will need to work at least one evening and one weekend shift in order to conduct orientations for new hires. One-year commitment and summer availability.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
Memorial Union Restaurants is hiring for a Student Administrative Assistant to join our team.
This position will work closely with Memorial Union Restaurant Leadership and the Wisconsin Union Marketing Team to ensure our internal and external campaigns run smoothly while helping us maintain a strong brand presence.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as knowledge and interest in marketing and storytelling with strong attention to detail
Excellent customer service, judgment/problem-solving and organizational skills
Comfortable interpreting reports and providing analysis
Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Google Suite.
Self-motivated, organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Creative mindset with interest in branding and digital media.
A strong interest in digital storytelling.
