Department Overview:

The Office for Student Organizations, Leadership & Involvement (SOLI) assists students in intentionally connecting with the far ranging opportunities that exist throughout campus, including student organizations. We offer leadership programming that supports students in making meaning of these experiences and in developing leadership capacity – the ability to affect positive change.

  • August 24, 2026 - May 7, 2027

  • Training dates: April 16 & April 23, 2026

 

Anticipated Schedule

  • Available for office hours at least 3 days per week during business hours. Office Hours based on availablity.

 

Unit Hours

  • 9am-5pm

Salary/Wage Range:

Hourly $15.00 to $15.00

Position Summary/Job Duties:

  • Advise, consult and guide those interested in applying for the Wisconsin Experience grant (WEG).
  • Work with student applicants to ensure all relevant applicant information has been provided and clarify grant guidelines.
  • Write and distribute acceptance and denial letters, funding decision reasonings, and information relevant to applicants.
  • Ensure submission of all documents and accurate record keeping, including receipts, invoices and other records.
  • Track program budget and procedures.
  • Assist in development and updating process documents.
  • Coordinate WEG Review Committee meetings, including reading all applications and evaluating submissions.
  • Schedule and facilitate weekly WEG Review Committee meetings.
  • Assist SOLI permanent staff as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks and documentation needs.
  • Work well independently and as a team member.
  • Provide friendly, responsive service to students and staff.
  • Create an inclusive and welcoming working environment.
  • Assess, analyze, and evaluate program and its objectives.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, Google Office Suite.
