Position Summary/Job Duties:

ASAP work with InDesign to create a master template and do the initial design/layout for the first issue of a high school newspaper.

My daughter wanted to start a high school newspaper for her small, independent high school in Madison. I have a background in journalism, and have been advising the newspaper this year as they launch. The stories are written, the photos are ready... but the last time I did layout was with PageMaker and QuarkXPress in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I don't know how to use InDesgin very well, and need help creating a master layout for the students.

I've been trying to figure it out on my own, but I need help from someone who knows how to use InDesign, has an eye for design and can work on this with me immediately. It's a great group of students -- and the two editors are planning to take InDesign classes over the summer -- but school ends on June 5 and we need a newspaper out ASAP!

Qualifications:

InDesign expertise

Design and Layout experience

Ideally newspaper layout experience, too
