Position Summary/Job Duties:

Hey summer stragglers! Stil looking for an awesome job this summer?

Madison Youth Sailing Foundation (MYSF) is seeking energetic individuals looking to spend the summer outdoors and on the water with Dane county youth sailors. MSYF is Madison's only youth sailing school, offering classes ages 5-16, located in Maple Bluff (neighborbood on the east side of Lake Mendota). We teach classes in Optimist dinghies and Club 420s starting June 15 through August 14.

We are seeking 2-3 full-time instructors to support classes of all levels. You will work in a large group of coaches, ages 14-grad students. Curriculum will be provided and you'll work as a team to adapt to daily weather conditions and partipant sailing abilities.

Experience as a sailing instructor is preferred, not required. Experience sailing is required--it could be from camp or any other exposure to sailing. Experience with motor boats is also preferred. If you are interested in a part-time (evenings only) role that does not require sailing experience, please inquire for our other job posting.

We run most of classes as two-week half-day camps and offer morning and afternoon sessions. Instruction runs 8:30-4:30pm and it is expected for coaches to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.

Our sailing site is located on the north end of Maple Bluff. Personal transportation is highly recommended.

Paid training will be provided the week of Jun 8, including First Aid and CPR certification if you do not already have it.

Qualifications:

Sailing experience required

Sailing instruction experience preferred

Motor boat operation strongly preferred
