We’re a busy family near downtown Madison looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person to help keep our home clean and running smoothly. This is a recurring weekly position, 4 hours each week.

About the job
Our home is a 4-bedroom, 1-bathroom house, and it’s lived in. We have kids, and things won’t always be picked up before you arrive. That’s part of the job: you’ll pick up and tidy as well as clean.

We’ll give you a prioritized list so you always know what matters most. Some weeks you’ll get through the whole list, and some weeks the house will need more pickup and you’ll get through less. We understand that and don’t expect perfection every visit, just steady progress on the top priorities.

What you’ll do

• Pick up and put away toys, clothes, and general clutter
• Tidy and reset common areas and kids’ rooms
• Clean the kitchen and bathroom (counters, sinks, appliance exteriors, toilet, shower/tub)
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
• Dust surfaces
• Make beds and change sheets as needed
• Other light household tasks from the list as time allows

Schedule

• 4 hours per week
• Friday's prefered but Thursday is also an option.
• Kids are usually at school while you’re here
• Long-term, recurring position

Pay and supplies

• $25/hour
• We’re flexible on supplies: we can provide them, or you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer

Good to know

• No pets in the home

What we’re looking for

• Cleaning experience (home or professional)
• Reliable and consistent: shows up on schedule and communicates if something comes up
• Comfortable in a home with kids
• Takes initiative and works well from a priority list
