Upon completion of the mentorship program, mentees are eligible to be promoted to a personal trainer. Employment end date is determined by graduation or resignation.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in the ACE Personal Trainer Exam Prep Course. https://recwell.wisc.edu/acefitness/

Candidates who have or are working toward another NCCA accredited personal training certification will be considered on a case by case basis.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Passion to learn about exercise, fitness, and personal training. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Personal training mentees are assigned a personal training mentor, shadow personal training sessions, attend workshops, attend group fitness classes as a participant and perform mock sessions under their mentor's supervision.

Physical Demands:

Ability to demonstrate exercises. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Able to move around the facility.
