Qualifications:

Required
- Pursuing a Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related degree
- Must be available to work on-site during the 2025 summer break and 2025-2026 school year

Preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- UW-Madison work study eligible

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Required
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with others in a timely and professional manner.

Preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analysis, technology, problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, record keeping and organization skills.
- Skilled at navigating ambiguity and excelling in a dynamic, complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively tackle challenges with a go-getter attitude.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

This internship will immerse you in essential areas such as talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and navigating human resource information systems, all while gaining invaluable hands-on experience that will propel your HR career forward.

Job Duties
- Enters, reviews, and processes HR transactions including student hires according to established policies and procedures.
- Creates, completes and maintains various HR processes, reports, databases, and/or records to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and legal rules and regulations. Duties include, but not limited to, performance evaluations, I-9 verification, background screening, and youth compliance.
- Assists with essential HR functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Serves as a point of contact to 1,000+ employees, managers, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
