Department Overview:

The Title VI program is designed to address the unique cultural, language, and educationally related academic needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students, and works to ensure that all students meet the challenging state academic standards.

Qualifications:

Ability to effectively tutor students – will be placed by preferred grade and subject, depending on schedules. Ability to provide summary report to supervisor, Tutor Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to communicate well and respond to relevant email correspondence. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Attend scheduled training and tutor meetings as assigned. Familiarity with working with diverse students - able to gain trust, establish rapport, and maintain confidentiality.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Provide tutorial support to improve student academic performance. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, program and school personnel, and parents. Track student participation and progress and provide written or oral reports to the supervisor. Assist students with resources to improve academic performance.

Physical Demands:

Able to meet in person, possibly at the school. Possibility of meeting online after exploring other options.
