Department Overview:

The Graaskamp Center for Real Estate, which is housed within the Wisconsin School of Business. The Center administers three graduate programs, three major industry conferences, and multiple outreach and student field trips. The graduate programs offer four tracks: real estate development, affordable and sustainable housing, real estate investment and private equity. Our real estate program is ranked #1 by US News & World Report.

Qualifications:

• Excellent writing/editing skills. Experience writing a variety of content, including news stories, feature articles, press releases and online content.
• Creative thinker; excels at generating new ideas. Experience with writing feature stories, social media posts, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently within deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and team communication skills; Comfortable interviewing diverse constituents – from students to industry professionals.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for global business, affordable housing, real estate and urban land economics, and a desire to help share the mission and vision of the Graaskamp Center.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent writing/editing skills. Please submit published articles for writing samples.
• Creative thinker; excels at generating new ideas. Experience with writing feature stories, social media posts, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently within deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and team communication skills; Comfortable interviewing diverse constituents – from students to industry professionals.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for global business, affordable housing, real estate and urban land economics, and a desire to help share the mission and vision of the Graaskamp Center.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Write and edit content, including news stories, feature articles, press releases and development and website materials.
• Take a lead role in the planning and execution of social media platforms with a focus on LinkedIn.
• Assist with the Graaskamp Center online content, creating new content and making existing content more user friendly.
• Assist with our monthly e-newsletter and the annual report.
• Perform administrative tasks such as research, proofreading, fact checking, organizing photo files, preparing information for distribution, creating graphics, etc.
• Not required but helpful: Willingness to learn how to produce and edit podcast and video interviews.
