The River Food Pantry is South Central Wisconsin's busiest food panty.

Schedule:

This position will work 10 hours per week during the academic year. We are open to hours worked on the following days and times: Monday (8:00am-2:00pm), Tuesday (3:00pm-6:00pm), Thursday (2:00pm-4:00pm), and Friday (7:00am-3:00pm). We are able to work with the student to find a schedule that meets their needs inside of these days/hours. Work-study is required for this position.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in a customer service role is required.
• Experience leading others is preferred.
• 3+ years of driving experience is required, experience driving delivery trucks/vans is preferred.
• Previous experience with a CRM (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Multilingual is preferred, Spanish and/or Hmong is strongly preferred.
• Commitment and passion for The River’s mission, vision and goals.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to use and maintain client database CRM (e.g., Salesforce).
• Initiative to continue learning and be solutions focused.
• Ability to work with sensitivity and without discrimination towards people of diverse cultures, races/ethnicity, socio-economic positions, ages, religions, genders, physical/mental challenges/disabilities, and sexual orientations.
• Ability to stand, stoop, and move inside and outside the pantry for prolonged periods of time is required.
• Ability to work in various weather and temperature conditions.
• Ability to work productively with limited supervision both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and understandably through interactions with staff, volunteers, and clients.
• Ability to think quickly and make good decisions when problems arise.
• Ability to accept responsibility for actions, decisions, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to operate standard warehouse equipment.
• Ability to build good working relationships and foster feelings of mutual respect with staff, volunteers, and clients.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful in stressful and on occasion volatile situations.
• Ability to complete a background and DMV check are required.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Packing orders & products along with delivering to clients/partner agencies
• Communicating effectively and calmly with clients via phone and email.
• Training, leading, and supporting volunteers
• Assisting with recordkeeping to track the number of households and individuals served and registering households and data entry/management in the CRM system
• Maintaining a sanitary and orderly working environment.
• Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations of The River.
• Operate equipment (e.g., dolly, pallet jacks) in a safe manner in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Operate The River’s vehicles in a safe manner while obeying federal, state, and local traffic laws.
• Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to meet program needs.
