Department Overview:

The Office of the Registrar employs a team of 21 talented student employees each year to assist faculty, staff and students across campus. The Office of the Registrar is uniquely positioned to provide vital administration to our campus. We are the intersection between the Schools and Colleges and the teaching and learning mission, student services, and technology.

Student office assistants will work between 8am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Work location will primarily be onsite in the Office of the Registrar

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

This position is well-suited for those interested in student services/administrative work and technology. Students will provide written and verbal customer service regarding transfer credit evaluation services for prospective students, current students, academic advisors, faculty, and the general public. Students in this position also assist with data entry through optical character recognition software from college transcripts into the Student Information System, provide guidance on how to utilize Transferology for transfer course equivalencies, and routing a variety of requests to transfer credit evaluators for review. The most qualified applicants will be effective communicators, reliable, detail-oriented, able to work independently and with others, and familiar with learning new technology. The desire and ability to learn quickly and the ability to adhere to confidentiality/privacy guidelines are essential.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Responsibilities include administrative support for transfer credit evaluation functions such as customer service via email and phone, college transcript review, use of optical character recognition software, data entry, and facilitation of syllabus review.

Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Providing support and services to students, staff, and the public (email, phone)
- Reviewing college transcript data through optical character recognition software
- Performing data entry in various systems/processes
- Using technology/tools such as the Student Information System (SIS), Transferology, Transfer Evaluation System (TES), Raptor, Perceptive Content, and Salesforce
- Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with FERPA laws regarding student records
- Maintaining a working knowledge of MyUW as it relates to student record information
- Assisting other Office of the Registrar units with administrative tasks

Physical Demands:

Answering phones, typing emails, looking at computer screens, reviewing documents, sitting for periods of time
