Department Overview:

The Glide-Hurst lab performs research at the intersection of medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and advanced computing in cancer therapies. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in human anatomy, imaging, cardiology, etc. to refine contours of cardiac anatomy in medical images. This role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with an established research team, gain robust experience with diverse medical image volumes, learn more about artificial intelligence in medicine, and co-authorship on manuscripts or conference proceedings.

Qualifications:

Prior experience with anatomy or medical imaging is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. A technical-minded individual with interests in Radiology, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, or Cancer would be well suited for this role although others will be considered.

Ideal candidate would be enrolled in medical school or senior undergraduate student entering a medical professional program. Students with less than junior standing will not be considered due to the complexity of this position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Interest in medical anatomy and medical imaging
• General comfort with basic computer use, Mac-based lab
• Willingness to study complex anatomy to yield highly accurate image annotations.
• Experience with general human anatomy and anatomical terminology
• An attention to detail with the ability to extrapolate information
• [Optional] Familiarity or interest in cardiac anatomy is a plus

Position Summary/Job Duties:

• Review and modify predicted cardiac anatomy annotations from various medical imaging modalities
• Annotate new medical image volumes in cases where no predictions exist
• Collaborate with researchers and experts to ensure accurate and consistent annotations across patients and image modalities
• Assist in generating content for abstracts, proceedings, and publications
