Department Overview:
We are looking for motivated undergraduate students who want to work in a corn breeding program. Activities are mostly carried out in the field, on experimental farms located in West Madison and Hancock.

Schedule:
Varied, depending on the student’s class schedule. We work on different days and shifts (mornings and afternoons), but we always meet at Moore Hall before each shift.

Qualifications:
Availability for fieldwork in corn seed production fields.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The candidates must enjoy working outdoors and be organized and careful with data collection for scientific purposes.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Help collect data on corn crops for breeding purposes. Each group works about four hours at a time in the fields.
Physical Demands:
Plant phenotyping requires us to bend down and stand up several times in order to collect data on the roots and aerial parts of the plants.
