Help us tell the university’s story through your writing, social media, photographic and/or video skills. You may specialize in one area, or work across all these platforms. Work alongside the university's top creative communicators, both in person in our Bascom Hall office and remotely.

Qualifications:
To be eligible, applicants must be students enrolled at UW–Madison. Undergraduate coursework in journalism, English, mass communication, public relations or marketing is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
The position requires proven writing and editing experience, the ability to work with limited supervision, proven knowledge of social media platforms (including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Spotify) and familiarity with AP style and Mac OS. Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems is a plus. Photo, video and graphic design skills are also a plus.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
— Conceive, report and write news and feature stories about the achievements and activities of fellow students and campus trends for distribution to news media and legislators and for use in university publications, including The Weekly and Inside UW. — Assist with university-level social media accounts and create content, both serious and fun, about campus news, events, student life, Badger Athletics and internet trends. — Work 8-15 hours per week with a team of creative communicators - writers, editors, designers, social media experts and media relations professionals — Take videos and photos to complement those stories and posts. — Enhance your resume with real-world publicity and media relations experience.
