Qualifications:
Proficiency in data programming and curation Proficiency in programming languages for data extraction, manipulation, curation, and transformation Experience working with the Web of Science database preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Java, Javascript, C/C++, PHP) and data visualization (e.g., R) Ability to extract, manipulate, curate, and transform data from the Web of Science database Ability to work iteratively with social scientists on an ongoing research project
Position Summary/Job Duties:
The student selected for this position will extract data from Web of Science database searches, curate a working database, manipulate data by removing irrelevant and duplicate information, and extract contact author information (names and methods of contacting these authors) from academic articles. The end products of this project will be multiple working databases and curated lists of relevant journal articles with contact information for an ongoing social science project.
