Department Overview:

UW-Madison’s Center for High Throughput Computing (CHTC) serves as the campus’s core research computing center. As part of our mission to share the potential of high throughput computing approaches with research fields, we host training events and undertake other facilitation activities like office hours and individual consultations.

We seek 1 student to be part of our planning and reporting team for these activities. This position is a good opportunity for students who are extremely detail-oriented and interested in tracking information and contributing to event planning.

Minimum: 6 Maximum: 12

Schedule:

- 6-12 hours per week through June 2025, with the possibility to extend.
- Flexible hours during regular Central Time business hours
- On-site work, with the option to work remotely occasionally when needed.

$16.00

Qualifications:

- enrolled at UW-Madison as a sophomore or higher standing
- can commit to regular working hours at least two days a week
- conscientious and able to execute detailed, multi-step tasks with accuracy
- experience in communicating professionally, for example, with customers or colleagues
- interest in learning new computational skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Writing professional communications and announcements
- Organizing and managing data using spreadsheets
- Working with web based tools like Google Workspace

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Track and process event registrations
- Communicate with event participants via individual and mass communications
- Track and process CHTC account requests
- Coordinate collection of information for reporting
