Housed within the School of Education, the Wisconsin Center for Education Research (WCER), established in 1964, is one of the first, most productive, and largest university-based education research and development centers in the world. WCER's researchers and staff work to make teaching and learning as effective as possible for all ages and all people. Schedule:
This is a summer position with the possibility to extend to spring/fall semester as needed, so the candidate MUST have summer availability. The start date of this position will be in late April 2025, but can start as soon as possible if necessary. This position is located in the WCER front office and provides general office support for research projects and service units. The WCER Front Desk & Operation Assistant will provide clerical and receptionist assistance for the WCER front office and building-wide support for maintaining supplies, key inventories, conference room maintenance, and other additional tasks. All duties will be performed on-site. You must have work hours available between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

● Previous office experiences preferred ● Proficient computer skills including ● Microsoft Suite ● Excellent customer service, organization, and attention to detail ● Ability to manage time independently ● Ability to work over summer

Position Summary/Job Duties:
This position is located in the WCER front office and provides general office support for research projects and service units. The WCER Front Desk & Operation Assistant will provide clerical and receptionist assistance for the WCER front office and building-wide support for maintaining supplies, key inventories, conference room maintenance, and other additional tasks. All duties will be performed on-site. You must have work hours available between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Job Duties: ● Issue keys and update key inventory in an online database ● Assist research projects with administrative tasks as needed ● Assist with requests for booking conference rooms via EMS ● Direct phone calls and respond to voicemails ● Greet and welcome WCER Front Office visitors ● Scan and upload documents to shared filing systems ● Monitor office supply inventory ● Enter financial data into grants and accounting databases ● Assist with making photocopies and posting fliers/notices around WCER building ● Sort and distribute incoming U.S. and interdepartmental mail ● Support Facilities department with general office, building, and conference room cleanliness and maintenance ● Guide individuals within the building and campus ● Other duties as needed
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this typical office work include occasional lifting and carrying of light to moderate items, walking and standing around the office, prolonged sitting at a desk, reaching and bending for supplies, and frequent use of a computer and office equipment.
