Department Overview:
The over-arching goal of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) is to address the complex challenges of the university’s broad research enterprise and support the needs of graduate education across campus, in a thoughtful and collaborative manner, all while providing strong leadership and clear vision in the constant pursuit of research and graduate education excellence. Our Evaluating conflicts of interest plays a pivotal role in the research process by reviewing the outside activities of researchers, faculty, and staff for potential research bias.

Qualifications:
You must be enrolled as an undergraduate student or graduate student to qualify for this position.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
• Ability and desire to provide excellent customer service. • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills. • Commitment to respect, courtesy, and confidentiality in the workplace. • Ability to work without direct supervision; self-motivated, reliable, and professional. • Ability to use typical workplace software (e.g., word), track work and workflows, and learn office-specific IT tools. • Ability to work with sensitive documents and maintain confidentiality.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
• This position provides administrative support for the office of research policy and integrity, mainly the area of conflicts of interest. • Collect and manage compliance documentation from faculty and staff for assigned management plans. • Notify researchers of their management plans and the necessary requirements of the plans including follow up communications to retrieve any missing documentation. • Provide responses to questions about the COI reporting process and using the outside activities reporting portal. • Demonstrate excellent customer service to all customers who contact the Conflict of Interest Office.
