Department Overview:

The Design Studies department focuses on the production, process, and impact of design. Through scholarship, analysis, curriculum, and outreach, we advocate design as an encompassing discipline central to every aspect of life. We emphasize and promote a multi-disciplinary, global approach to design, and we value connections, nationally and internationally, with other campus, community, and professional programs.

Flexible schedule. Typical lab hours are from Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm.

Qualifications:

A strong willingness to learn on the job and tackle new challenges.
Ability to work collaboratively under the Digital Fabrication Lab Manager and gain additional skills beyond the scope of the role.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in the following software: Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Familiarity with scanning software and hardware.
Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Provide customer service support for students encountering various computer and software issues.
Troubleshoot problems related to software and hardware.
Assist students with printing tasks, ensuring proper formatting and troubleshooting print-related issues.
Support software installation and provide basic guidance on the use of essential programs.
Work closely with the BITS team when needed for advanced technical support.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift 25lbs.
