Schedule:
5-10 hours per week depending on the student’s schedule. The schedule is flexible and dependent on the timing of photo/video assignments which will vary. Some weeks will include assignments on nights and weekends.

Qualifications:
•Registered UW-Madison undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing •Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal and organizational skills •Familiarity with digital cameras, DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment (office-owned Sony equipment is available for use by the student) •Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Premiere or other photo/video editing software •Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines, work independently and cooperatively on projects. •Are excited to build your portfolio and share your work. •Desire to create storytelling content to share the experiences of Rec Well members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Experience producing photo and video content for a client, class or publication. Familiarity with photographing and processing RAW digital files (such as using Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom). Familiarity with photo captioning, keywording, applying metadata to files and digital asset management. Familiarity with video recording. Familiarity with editing videos using premiere pro or other timeline based software.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
This is an opportunity to gain photography and video experience by helping tell the story of Rec Well and our members. The digital media assistant will photograph subjects and obtain their permission for being in marketing materials, work independently to capture photo and video on assignments, and help keep our digital library of photos and videos organized. The student in this role will work under the guidance of Rec Well’s Digital Media Coordinator and the marketing department to help provide visual coverage of Rec Well’s events and member experience. Assignments will include photography and videography of Rec Well members, events, tournaments, trainings, and program offerings, as well as digital processing, image captioning, electronic publishing, and distribution.
Physical Demands:
Carrying and transporting camera gear that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
