Fall & Spring:
Group lessons typically run between 5-8pm on weeknights and 11am-7pm on weekends.
Private lessons are scheduled around Open Swim and your availability.

Summer:
Private lessons are scheduled around Open Swim and your availability.

Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

Minimum: $17.00 Maximum: $20.00

Qualifications:

- Design engaging swim lessons, activities, and workshops for all levels and ages of participants
- Thorough knowledge of and application of teaching swim lessons skills
- Ability to work independently and possess energy, enthusiasm, and passion for teaching
- Weekend Availability

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Excellent communication (Participants, Grown-Ups, Co-workers, Supervisors)
- Organizational skills (Attendance keeping, Lesson timing)
- Reliable, patient, and decided to help players learn and improve their swimming abilities

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Teach youth and adult swim lessons at the Nicholas Recreation Center & Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center

- Set up and take down activity space
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and teaching swim lessons
- Take attendance and send progression cards post-session
- Provide consistency in instruction and positive reinforcement following general checklist for group lesson goals
- Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives
- Keep track of time throughout the lesson
- Communicate and interact with youth and adult participants
- Participate in onboarding and youth safety training
- Clearly articulate, enforce, and educate participants on all rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the facility use manual
- Engage in monthly training with the Community Programs team
- Learn and utilize system software to submit reports and schedule lessons
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper swimming techniques with or without accommodations
- Ability to lift and move equipment with or without accommodations
