Department Overview:

Intramural Sports is a department within Recreation and Wellbeing that focuses on recreational and competitive opportunities for students to play sports against (or with) their peers. Over the course of a semester the department hosts thousands of games over a variety of Sports, including but not limited to: Basketball, Volleyball, Pickleball, Soccer, Flag Football, Ice Hockey, Climbing, Cribbage, and Esports.

Anticipated Hours Per Week:

Minimum: 6 hours

Maximum: 20 hours

Schedule:

Anticipate approximately 6-12 hours a week. This will typically be 2-3 days a week including weekends (home football games included but not often). Stream team members will be required to work an average of 2 shifts a week.

Qualifications:

- Must be available to work weeknights and weekends.
- Must reliably attend all scheduled shifts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Interest in livestreaming sports and esports; prior experience or knowledge is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to learn and operate livestreaming equipment and software. This includes Open Broadcasting Software (OBS) and Elgato streaming equipment.
- Ability to balance academic and job responsibilities.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

- Attend Stream specific trainings.
- Communicate information to participants and event supervisors.
- Gather and set up streaming equipment and any necessary accessories, such as tables and chairs.
- Produce livestreams, update game clocks, scores and team names. This includes when operating currently installed automated camera systems.
- Control camera view when necessary, ensuring that the “action” of the game is in the best possible angle.
- Protect participants’ privacy and confidentiality, as well as protect severe injuries from being livestreamed publicly.
- Optionally provide commentary over gameplay at Live Events.
- Optionally discuss and interview players on camera.

Physical Demands:

- Handle tables, chairs, and camera equipment during event setup and teardown.
- Frequently bend, stoop, or reach while setting up or operating equipment.
