Department Overview:

NeuroPride is a student organization at UW Madison dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals through community building, activism, and education. The organization aims to foster acceptance, accessibility, and understanding for all neurodivergent individuals on campus.

Schedule:

1 weekly staff Meeting (1-2 hours), Weekly Office Hours (5+ hours), Attendance to Events, and all positions are expected to complete their expectations in a timely fashion while completing 13 hours per week. Position offers some flexibility.

Qualifications:

Who’s a great fit?
- Passionate about neurodivergence, disability justice, and student support.
- Organized, communicative, and collaborative.
- Experienced in related fields or eager to learn and grow!
-Experience in leadership, event coordination, or event facilitation.
-Strong organizational and communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Lived experience as a neurodivergent individual or strong understanding of neurodivergence.
-Enthusiasm pertaining to neurodiversity, disability, advocacy etc.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

-Plan and execute social and educational events like craft nights, game nights, and more.
-Lead the planning and execution of major events like Neurodivergence Acceptance Month and Disability Pride Week in collaboration with the organization chair.
-Organize and hold monthly member meetings to provide updates, gather feedback, and build community connections.
-Gather feedback from participants to improve programming.
-Collaborate with the Peer Mentorship and Peer Advocacy programs to enhance community support.
-Act as a liaison for students to connect them with resources and programs.
-Hold 6 regular office hours every week.
-Facilitate Peer to Peer Counseling sessions, creating safe spaces for neurodivergent students.
