Department Overview:
The Chowpati is Madison's first truly Indian Street Food joint that will be part of the inaugural cohort of merchants at the much awaited and prestigious Madison Public Market. We offer authentic Indian street food variety covering regional cuisines from all corners of India right here in Madison. The Chowpati will be a takeout place with a small seating area for customers to watch the preparation and presentation process of our menu items for an immersive experience. We will be open during the normal business hours of the market between Wednesday and Sunday

Schedule:
Work schedule will mostly be on the weekend with a flexibility to be available on the weekdays. Fri-Sun: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm CST Sat-Sun: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm CST

Qualifications:
Education: Prior experience in a quick-service restaurant or retail environment is preferred but not required; we provide on-the-job training. Fluency with English language to read, write and speak confidently
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Attitude: Positive, high-energy, and willing to help others. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure during "rush" hours. Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Customer Service: Greet guests warmly and process customer orders accurately using the POS system. Food Preparation: Assemble and serve food items following specific recipes and safety guidelines. Cash Handling: Process cash, credit, and mobile payments while ensuring the drawer remains balanced. Cleanliness: Sweep floors, wipe down, sanitize high-touch surfaces, service counters and take out trash. Customer Inquiries: - Address customer inquiries and resolve concerns in a professional, friendly and timely manner. Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and delivered promptly.
Stocking: Keep condiment stations, beverage towers, and kitchen prep lines fully stocked.
Physical Demands:
Physical: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 15-20 lbs.
