Department Overview:

Department Overview: SuccessWorks at the College of Letters & Science is responsible for providing career advising and internship/job search assistance to the approximately 18,000 undergraduate students within the College of Letters & Science. Among our many services, we offer career and internship advising, programming and events, undergraduate career courses, and growing connections to UW’s vast alumni network and employers.

Schedule:

Weekly schedules occur during standard work hours (Mondays - Fridays between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm). Hours are flexible to accommodate a student’s schedule as needed. The intern may also be required to assist with some student programming or events outside of normal business hours.

Qualifications:

Current UW-Madison graduate student with an interest in data analytics, assessment, higher education, or student success.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, quality, and confidentiality.
Experience analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends, generate insights, and support decision-making.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets; experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools is preferred.
Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Interest in using data to improve programs, services, and student outcomes.
Familiarity with survey data, assessment practices, or program evaluation is preferred.

Position Summary/Job Duties:

Analyze student career engagement and post-graduation outcomes data to identify trends, generate insights, and support data-informed strategic decision-making.
Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and presentations that communicate insights and demonstrate the impact of career education initiatives.
Support data systems, reporting processes, and assessment projects, including work within 12Twenty and CRM platforms.
Contribute to career outcomes data collection efforts, including the First Destination Survey.
Create documentation, training, and onboarding materials that enhance data literacy and support effective use of data tools and outcomes data.
Present findings and recommendations to staff and campus partners while maintaining data confidentiality and privacy standards.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of assessment, analytics, and student success initiatives.
