Department Overview:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension connects university research and expertise with communities across Wisconsin through education, outreach, and engagement. This position is part of the Community Development Institute's Organizational and Leadership Development Program, which helps build leadership, organizational effectiveness, and community capacity through education, training, and applied research initiatives serving communities and organizations throughout Wisconsin.

Schedule:
Approximately 10 hours per week. Most hours are flexible and may be completed around the student's class schedule in coordination with the supervisor. Occasional team meetings and project meetings will be scheduled with advance notice.
Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:
Minimum: $18.00 Maximum: $20.00

Qualifications:
Must be a current student enrolled for credit at an academic institution. Student will need to show proof of enrollment before starting. Employment will require a criminal background check. Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn and use technology platforms, including Microsoft Office and web-based software applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Interest in community development, public affairs, education, communications, nonprofit management, or related fields. Ability to gather, organize, and manage information and data. Ability to create and edit written content for educational, communication, or marketing purposes. Ability to support website, database, and digital resource management activities. Ability to assist with program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Gather data and information to support educational programs and resource development. Assist with maintaining databases, digital resource libraries, and program records. Format and organize curriculum and educational materials for use by Extension educators. Create and distribute communications, marketing materials, and program announcements. Update webpages and support online content management. Assist with program evaluation activities, including tracking survey distribution. Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Work at a computer for extended periods.
