 The Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives (OMAI) provides groundbreaking cultural programming for the UW-Madison and broader communities.

Schedule:

 Typical shifts are 2-4hrs. Event day(s) can be 8hrs.

Qualifications:

 Required:
Must be University of Wisconsin - Madison Student (enrolled during time of employment)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Effective organizational and time management skills
Ability to collaborate with OMAI community to support OMAI’s Missions, Values, Goals, and Initiatives.
Commitment to the values of equity and responsible community engagement
Ability to adapt to change

Preferred:
Strong History and Interest in Hip Hop and Urban Arts preferred but not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

An ideal META Intern candidate has:
Creative Arts Experience (Graphic Design, Videography, and Photography required)
Social Media Management Experience (Instagram/Threads and Facebook preferred)
Design Software Experience (Canva required, Adobe Creative Suite preferred)
Project Management Software Experience (Asana preferred but not required)
Strong History and Interest in Hip Hop and Urban Arts (preferred but not required)

Position Summary/Job Duties:

META Intern:
- Content Calendars: Develop and execute content calendars for Instagram/Thread and Facebook
- Instagram Management: Post 2-4 times a week. Post on stories 3-5 times a week. Write engaging captions. Interact with digital audience via comments and likes. Answer DMs. Report analytics.
- Threads Management: Post 2-4 times a week. Write engaging threads. Interact with digital audience via comments and likes. Answer DMs. Report analytics.
- Facebook Management: Post 1-3 time a week. Post on stories 3-5 times a week. Update Cover Art. Write engaging captions. Interact with digital audience via comments and likes. Create Events. Answer DMs. Report analytics.
- Creative Deliverables: Create engaging graphics that align with the OMAI/UW Brand. Take photos at OMAI related performances, events, and workshops for social media and OMAI Media and Marketing/Communication use. Make Reels and other short form videos. Develop and Execute Quarterly Newsletter.
- Software Use: Utilize Asana, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook to collaborate with the OMAI Team.
Professional Development: 2 Software Trainings; 1 Career Advising Session; 1 Technical Training Workshop.

Physical Demands:

META Intern: Must Be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for 2-4 hours at a time.
